Hello! How can we help you?

Why do my hands hurt when walking with a rollator?

The hands bolster a large part of the upper body weight onto the grips of a rollator. Thus there is constant and high pressure on a small area causing nerves to be irritated. It is also common that many rollator users bend their wrists too much. The result is sensory loss, tingling, numbness or abnormal sensations in the little finger and ring finger (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). In extreme cases, even the grasping function of all fingers is limited.

Adjustable grip angle

The handles on Trionic's products are angle-adjustable which makes it easy for you to find your ideal hand position in order to relieve your wrists. Through the Ergon grip’s 'wing' construction, the hand is fully supported and the wrist is automatically put in an ergonomically ideal position (left photo below).

Choose the right Grip Size

As the hand size is different from person to person, Trionic offers the Ergon GP1 grips in two sizes – Small that corresponds to glove size 6.5-8.5, and Large that corresponds to glove size 8.5-12.0. The difference lies in the diameter of the grip. A larger hand is better able to grip a larger grip with less stress and effort, whilst a smaller hand needs a smaller grip to allow the hand to close around it. But of course, grip size also comes down to personal preference.

Very satisfied with my new walker, good functions and sturdy when walking.
Folds up with ease but doesn’t stay together particularly well when lifting into the car.

  • FREEDOM!…

I searched the web and contacted Australian mobility aids companies trying to find an 'off road' rollator for my husband to use it around the house paddock on the farm. While he has a quad bike, ute and tractor for getting around, the farm, he'd had …

  • Comfortable Walker…

My Trionic Walker arrived on time as promised. A really efficient company to deal with. Already ‘test driven’ and really kind to arthritic neck and shoulders as there is hardly any vibration due to large pneumatic wheels. Also, walk from hips rather …

  • Great experience all the way around!…

I've taken my trek miles on the desert and it'll go anywhere. The training is bringing me to the point where I can walk without it. Even when I had flats from goathead thorns--the bane of all OTR cyclists--they were easily fixed at a bike store. Trio…

  • lovely bit of kit, Pity i couldn't make use of it,…

I couldn't change direction and reverse it out of my (narrow)hallway as the wheels were touching both walls at the same time…

  • Heinrich Heiß, 72 years old…

I think my Veloped is excellent. I walk my dog for an hour every day, which used to cause me a lot of back pain after 20 minutes. Now I can walk without pain. I've also hiked 10 kilometres several times (with my dog). My Veloped is a real eye-catcher…

  • Very satisfied - good stability…

Since my father has the Veloped, he's been walking more and in a much safer way. It makes him feel much safer while walking.

We are very satisfied with the Veloped and very happy we bought it. Compared to other walkers (we also had an extra rollat…

  • The Veloped is the best walking aid you could have…

It was a lucky shot that I found the Veloped online, I fell for it immediately. The Veloped gives the best support you could imagine, it is much better than both walking canes and crutches, you can relax when you’re walking, it rolls very easily and …

  • My husband is completely satisfied and can highly recommend the Waker 12…

We do a lot of walking in the woods on uneven ground. We have to remove the rear wheels because our boot is small. This is very quick to do. Thanks to all the developers of the Walker.…
